About the Project

When the country went into lockdown, I knew that this year the anniversary of the Manchester Arena terror attack would be mostly forgotten. So, I decided to contribute the best way I knew I could, that being through music.

I contacted the vast majority of musicians I knew and all of them were happy to be involved in the project. Once I had started working on the arrangement, I had almost completed it within a week and sent numerous drafts to the musicians to ask their opinions. Once it was completely finished, I sent each part to the relevant musicians.

I also contacted Salford University's Robin Dewhurst and Andy Diagram from the famous Manchester band 'james'. Both of these responded quickly and were very keen to support the project and have an involvement. These notable inclusions led to an acknowledgement from Andy Burnham, the Mayor of Greater Manchester, and also on Tameside Radio, as well as an article in the Tameside Reporter.
